Heating Maintenance & Furnace Tune-Ups
A fall heating tune-up keeps your furnace or heat pump running safely and efficiently, and catches problems before the first cold night.
What Is Heating Maintenance?
A heating tune-up is a safety inspection and cleaning of your furnace or heat pump. We inspect the burners and heat exchanger, test for carbon monoxide, check the ignition and flame sensor, test safety controls, and replace your filter.
Every furnace 15 years or older should be checked with a combustion analyzer at least once a year. Every home with gas heat should also have working CO detectors.
When You Need It
- Your furnace hasn't been serviced in over a year
- It smells like burning dust beyond the first startup
- The system is 15+ years old
- You want peace of mind on CO safety

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time for a heating tune-up?
Early fall, before you need the heat and before our schedule fills up.
Do heat pumps need heating maintenance too?
Yes. A heat pump heats and cools with the same equipment, so it benefits from both a spring and a fall visit.
What happens if you find a CO leak?
We shut the system down, explain what we found, and walk you through your options.
