What Is Furnace Installation & Replacement?

Furnaces rarely fail all at once. They decline: they get less efficient, parts get harder to find, and the safety margin on the heat exchanger gets thinner. Replacing before a mid-winter breakdown saves you a cold night and an emergency call.

We'll compare standard and high-efficiency gas furnaces with the heat pump option, so you can decide on real numbers for your home.

When You Need It

  • Your furnace is 15+ years old
  • Gas bills keep creeping up
  • Some rooms are noticeably colder
  • You're calling for repairs more often
  • Soot, rust or a persistent burning smell around the unit

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I replace my furnace instead of repairing it?

Multiply the furnace's age by the repair cost. If the result is over $5,000, replacement usually makes more sense. A 15-year-old furnace with a $400 repair works out to $6,000, so replace it.

Should I switch from gas to a heat pump?

For many North County homes, yes. Heat pumps work well in our mild climate. But if your gas furnace is healthy, there's no need to replace it early. Switch when it's due.

Is a yellow flame dangerous?

A yellow or flickering flame can mean incomplete combustion. Shut the system off and call us the same day.

Do you haul away the old furnace?

Yes. Removal and disposal are included in every replacement quote.
